Christiaan van Bremen

1978: Born in Los Angeles, California

1996: Christiaan graduated as a theatre major from the Los Angeles High School for the Arts .

1997: Christiaan gained representation by Dragon Talent. Between 1997 and 2001, Christiaan was featured in over thirty music videos, and a dozen national commercials ranging from such clients as McDonald's and Pepsi Corp. to Levi's and Union Bay. He has worked with photographers Steven Klein, Matthew Rolston, and Ned Ambler to name a few.

2000: Christiaan exhibited his paintings for the first time in the Echo Park Arts Festival. He published and distributed the zine Watercolor Horse, a showcase of his sketches, collage and writing. He played roles in two theatre productions produced by Vox Box Arts Collective.

2001: He joined up with the Queer Designers Alliance, a group of queer painters, graphic designers and architects. The QDA hosted art openings and parties featuring queer hip hop and Dj acts at music venues around Los Angeles. He also played the role of Ben in the play "Jigsaw," written by Janice Markham and directed by Irene Bedard at the Whitmore Linley Theatre.

2003: Christiaan began working as a licensed hairstylist, and became a Network Educator for Bumble and Bumble. Two of his paintings showed in the fall group exhibition Fresh 2003 at The Basement. Along fellow LA based musicians Octavius and Dave Wilson, Christiaan helped launch LA's premiere live electro performance night Data Age at the Grand Star in Chinatown.

2004 to 2007: Christiaan continues to paint and collaborate on projects while also working as a hairstylist. he has worked as a stylist for numerous runway shows and has been on the pages of such magazines as Pop, Paper and i-D. He spent much of 2006 performing with artist Lun*na Menow in an experimental, improvised music act Jean Paul Yamamoto. The group has performed in headlining slots at The Knitting Factory, Spaceland, The Echo and many others.
